Dear Parents/Carers,
This is to clarify some queries we have received from you. The KS4 Curriculum Options Evening takes place on Wednesday 3rd March from 6pm-7pm. You are warmly invited to attend and receive information about the curriculum offer for your children as they enter Year 10 in September. This event is for parents and carers only – students are not required to attend.
You will also have received a letter inviting you to attend our KS4 Options Evening next week on Wednesday 10th March. This is an opportunity for you to collect your child’s Spring Term report, discuss their progress and future choices with Learning Advisers, and collect more information about KS4 courses to support you and your child in making the best choices for them for Years 10 and 11. This event is for students to attend with their parents/carers.
Letters have been posted out to you and reply slips are to be returned to Learning Advisers by Friday 5th March to confirm attendance to the 10th March event. Further copies of the invitation letter may be collected from reception. We look forward to seeing you at both these events.

KS4 Curriculum
We are now in the process of finalising our KS4 Curriculum and are looking forward to sharing this with you and the students. We have focused on providing a curriculum based on three key principles.

To provide a deep and wide educational experience that encourages all students to fulfil their potential across many different areas relevant to their own abilities, skill and interests.

To ensure that all pupils develop the Key Skills of Literacy, numeracy and ICT.
-
To prepare students to move into adult working life and equip them with the technological skills to succeed in the continually changing modern workplace.
Our priority is to match students to appropriate courses and qualifications that will give them the best opportunities in further and higher education and employment. As parents you will play a key role in helping us make this happen.
Some very important dates for your diary:
- On the 3rd March we will be hosting a KS4 Curriculum Information evening from 6pm to 7pm at Bridge Academy, where we will outline our current plans for KS4 as well as providing you with general information about KS4 . We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible at this event.
- On the 10th March from 4pm to 8.30pm we will be holding our Year 9 Options evening. This will be an opportunity for you and your child to discuss with their Learning Adviser which options they will take in Year 10.
- On 25th March, Year 9 students will take part in an Options Taster day where they will get a chance to find out more about the different qualifications on offer.
Message for Parents of Bridge Academy
Enrichment for Spring 2010 has been overwhelmingly popular again, but due to late returns by some of the students we will not be able to distribute timetables until Monday 22nd February. These will be distributed to all students during tutor time.
