The Bridge Academy – A hub for the community
When the Academy was created, its sponsors, UBS, saw it as a place where many different kinds of activities could take place drawing in a diverse range of people.
The Bridge Academy sees the strengthening of community engagement as a natural part of the Academy’s life and is committed to building existing relationships and developing new ones as the Academy takes its place at the centre of the local community.
We have an ongoing commitment to deliver activities which promote community cohesion and engagement. Part of this commitment includes enabling the community to use our stunning building and to benefit from the first-class facilities.
This vision will be realised in a number of ways - sometimes through our work as an extended school in south Hackney working with others, sometimes as a place where different groups and individuals can hold events such as conferences and seminars and also on those occasions where individuals hire our premises for private occasions.
We are promoting the facilities and hire of the Academy to give people a sense of what is available. The Academy is a resource for people from different organisations, local businesses, community groups and local residents who will be able to use the building, through an agreed lettings policy.

Central Square is a truly spectacular space for business fairs, and private functions. Entering through the main entrance of the Academy, your visitors and guests will be impressed with the warm and naturally lit space. The square continues into the dining area and out onto the canalside terrace.
Performance Hall

(depending on seating configuration up to 428 person audience + performers).

The Performance Hall is a stunning contemporary setting for public and private performances. Its multipurpose features include flexible seating for up to 450 people, an acoustically designed auditorium and a suite containing top of the range sound and lighting equipment. The stage backdrop reveals a beautiful view of the Regent’s Canal and when the blinds are down, the space is transformed into an intimate venue for cinema and presentations.

The Lecture Theatre is the perfect venue for seminars and conferences. Features include seating and space for 280 people, audio visual equipment and projector, wireless/internet access and a demonstration table, ideal for scientific and mathematical events. The Lecture Theatre is accessible via a separate entrance.

The Sports Hall is built to Sport England standard. It has sprung floors and is the ideal venue for all indoor sport and leisure activity including: basketball, badminton and indoor cricket. The fitness suite is ideal for community fitness sessions. The rowing machines and the air pressured resistance equipment are ideal for personal training and sports therapy sessions.
