The gift of politically literacy gives students access to the democratic process that are necessary for improving their personal lives, their communities, and the UK. A more politically literate and engaged society allows for more representative governance, less conflict and more cohesive and democratic nation

KEY STAGE 4 SUMMARY

At Key Stage 4, we study the new AQA Citizenship GCSE over a two-year course.

The course builds on skills and content studied in Years 7 to 9 and covers specific topics assess in the GCSE. It involved an Active Citizenship component that offers the opportunity to campaign onn an issues that they are passionate about.

KEY STAGE 5 SUMMARY

 At Key Stage 5, we study the new Edexcel Politics specification over two years.

Students will deepen their knowledge of the how politics operates in the UK the processes by which we are governed. Student will have the opportunity to critique our democracy and institutions. In addition, students will examine the ideologies that underpin political thinking and compare the  US democracy to the UK.
