Key Stage 3 Summary
We believe that a strong understanding of religion is crucial for students to understand the rich religious influences in Hackney, London and the world beyond.
Religious Education at Bridge is characterised by a focus on religious literacy (reading and understanding the core texts), exploring differences and similarities within and between faiths, and recognising non-religious worldviews, such as atheism and humanism
Key Stage 3 RE follows these main topics:
Year 7 – Old Testament, New Testament, Judaism, Growth of Christianity
Year 8 – Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism
Year 9 – Philosophy of Religion, Ethics, Euthanasia
In RE thoughtful, rigorous and frank debate is central to how we learn. We expect students to be tolerant of each other whilst engaging in lively discussion.
